About me

My name is Ruth and I have a passion for people and seeing them flourish in their lives, relationships and communities. I am a non-judgmental, empathetic, and diligent counsellor who is passionate about seeing positive outcomes for all my clients. I currently work part time for a tertiary institute teaching Narrative Therapy and guiding counselling students on their learning journey. I spend the rest of my week meeting people through LifeBack Counselling, caring for my family and offering Christian Yoga. I have a deep value for living balanced, so can be found on my paddle board, enjoying the bush, or wining/dining with friends and family when having down time. My Christian faith is foundational to my wellbeing and identity and provides my sense of purpose.

From experience mothering my three children, counselling at a local charity organisation and Women’s Centre, educating in a tertiary setting as well as 10 years nursing in the public and private health sector, I have navigated the health and education setting first hand. I have encountered people working through depression, anxiety, identity crises, parenting struggles, a sense of inadequacy, relationship issues, hopelessness, grief and loss, traumatic experiences, and so much more.
